Long Meadow School

Our School Motto

Long Meadow School opened in 2001. During that time our school has changed significantly. The school opened it's doors to 210 children on its first day and today that figure has now shot up to 414. There are now no longer any children in our school from that first day and only 9 staff remain out of a workforce of 65.

The school's motto was agreed prior to the opening of the school, before the children, parents and staff had seen the school develop an identity of its own.

Eight years on, the school motto ceased to have the impact that it did in the early life of the school and we decided to look into the possibility of updating it.

Through the school council, we entered into a process of dialogue with the children and gauge their opinion. They were able to come up with some really fantastic ideas. The staff at Long Meadow then chose a selection of these to be put to the vote by the children.
